Intuitive Maneuvering
Control your boat through the steering wheel while AutoThrust assists with thruster control. Fewer separate controls mean more attention can stay on the boat and its surroundings.
Automatic Compensation
Wind and currents make low-speed maneuvering more demanding. AutoThrust automatically compensates for these external influences.
More Confident Docking
From docking alongside to entering or leaving a slip, AutoThrust is designed to assist with common low-speed maneuvering challenges.
Boat Control Made More Intuitive
Low-speed maneuvering can be one of the most challenging parts of boating, especially when wind and currents begin to influence the boat.
AutoThrust approaches the problem differently. The system integrates maneuvering thruster control into the steering wheel and uses yaw-rate feedback to help the boat turn as intended.
The result is a more consistent and predictable way to maneuver, with less need to operate multiple separate controls.
Designed for Real Maneuvering Challenges
Docking and maneuvering
The wheel-integrated control regulates thrusters to ensure that regardless of wind and currents your boat turns always just the right amount with respect to the steering wheel also at slow speeds.
Zero-speed heading hold
Maintain boat heading parallel to pier or slip berth despite crosswinds or currents while you are doing the mooring lines.
Headwind tracking
Maintain boat heading into headwind at zero speed without an autopilot, simplifying solo anchoring and sail hoisting and dropping.
Dual thruster sideways control
Regulate bow and stern thrusters simultaneously using a single helm input to shift the boat sideways.
Retractable thruster automation
AutoThrust automatically deploys and retracts your underwater thruster units based on vessel speed.
● About us
Technology Behind Better Boat Control
SR Marine Controls was founded in Espoo in 2014 by Sami Ruotsalainen, originating from torque vectoring software development for electric vehicles. We transferred those vehicle dynamic principles to marine control through our AutoThrust system. Tested across 3 full seasons on both motor and sailing craft, the hardware connects to Vetus and Sleipner proportional thrusters. Standard automotive components ensure durability in marine environments. The controller plugs directly into existing NMEA networks.
